Seat Happens: Privacy Policy
Effective date: 28 October 2026 (applies to version 1.1.0 and later; version 1.0.0 had no ads and collected nothing)
Seat Happens is a puzzle game. The game itself has no accounts and does not ask for, or keep, your name, email or any other personal details. Version 1.1 shows ads through Google AdMob, and Google's advertising software inside the game may collect some device and usage information to show and measure those ads. This page explains, in plain language, what is and is not collected.
The short version
- No accounts. You never sign up or log in.
- The game does not collect personal details. Not your name, email, contacts, photos or precise location, and it has no chat or user-generated content.
- Ads. The game shows rewarded video ads (you choose to watch one for a helper or an energy refill) and occasional ads between bookings. They are provided by Google AdMob. The first time you play through a wedding's story days, there are no ads.
- Google's ad software may collect a device identifier, your approximate location (from your IP address), and information about the ads you see and how you interact with them. See "Ads" below.
- You decide about tracking. The first time ads are about to appear, iOS asks whether the app may track you. You can say no and the game works the same, with ads that are less personalised.
- Your progress stays on your device. It is saved locally and nowhere else.
What the app stores, and where
Your progress. Which days you have finished, your stars and coins, which letters you have read and your settings. This is saved in a small file on your device, inside the app's own storage. Deleting the app deletes it.
A local play log. The app writes a short text log of game events (for example "day 3 completed") to a file in the app's own folder on your device. It contains no name, no account, no device identifier and no free text. It is never uploaded, never leaves your device, and nothing in the app sends it anywhere. Deleting the app deletes the file.
Ads (Google AdMob)
Seat Happens uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK, a third-party component made by Google, to show ads. When an ad is requested or shown, Google's software may collect and use:
- a device identifier, including the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking when iOS asks;
- your IP address, from which a general (coarse) location can be estimated;
- information about ads shown to you and how you interact with them (for example, an ad video being watched);
- diagnostic information, such as crash logs and performance data (launch time, hangs, energy use).
Google uses this to deliver, personalise and measure ads, to understand how well the ads work, and to keep the ad software reliable. It is handled under Google's own terms. How Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services is explained here: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and in Google's Privacy Policy. The game's own code does not send your progress, name or any account details to Google or to anyone else. We do not receive or hold your personal data; the ad provider handles ad data under its own policy.
The ads are set to a family-friendly content rating.
Your choices about ads and tracking
- Tracking prompt. iOS asks, once, whether Seat Happens may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you tap "Ask App Not to Track", the game does not receive your advertising identifier and ads continue, but are less personalised.
- Change your mind any time. In iOS Settings, open Privacy & Security, then Tracking, and switch Seat Happens on or off. The game's own Settings screen has a "Personalised ads" row that shows the current answer and opens iOS Settings for you.
- Regional consent. Where the law requires it (for example the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and some US states), Google's consent message may appear before ads, with options to accept, decline or manage ad preferences.
- You can also limit ad personalisation at Apple's level in iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Apple Advertising.
What we never do
- We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos or precise location, and we do not ask for those permissions.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not build advertising profiles of our own. The game's own code has no analytics service.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites ourselves. The ad provider may do so only if you allow tracking when iOS asks.
Information Apple may provide
If you have chosen to share crash reports and analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, or you install the game through TestFlight, Apple may make anonymised crash reports and usage statistics available to the developer. This is Apple's system, controlled by you in iOS Settings. It is not collected by the app.
Children
Seat Happens is a game for a general audience. It has no accounts, no chat and no purchases, and the game itself collects no personal information. Ads are set to a family-friendly content rating. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, this page will be updated first, the effective date above will change, and the App Store privacy details will be updated to match.
